Greetings BCOC Membership,

 

We are preparing for our annual elections to be held at the BCOC Annual Meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, FL July 13-July 15, 2023. Elections will be held during the week July 10-14, 2023, by electronic voting. Results will be revealed during the business session meeting July 15, 2023. All members are encouraged to participate in this process. All members are requested to familiarize themselves with the election process as stated in the By-Laws and approved Executive Board recommendations for exceptions to the election process.  This will help to ensure a smooth process. 

 

ARTICLE V    ELECTION

 

Section 1:    Time and Place

​

     a) Election of officers shall take place in odd and even (or staggered) years at the annual BCOC conference.

 

     b) Elections of the Chairperson, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Parliamentarian shall take place in odd years. (See                 Constitution & By-Laws for position duties Article IV)

​

    c)  Elections of the Vice Chairperson, Treasurer and Correspondence Secretary shall take place in even years. (See Constitution & By-           Laws for position duties Article IV)

 

    d) Executive Board Recommendation for Exception to the Election Process: That the elections of the Chairperson, Recording                          Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Parliamentarian shall take place this year to ensure the continuity of organization operations.

 

 

Eligibility for Office:

 

  • To be eligible for office, a candidate must have been an individual or retired member in good standing for at least three (3) consecutive years. Service must have been immediately prior to announcement of intention to run for office. 

​

  • Those desiring to run for office must be financial and in good standing at least Thirty (30) days prior to the start of the annual conference to be eligible to vote in the election.

 

  • Members in good standing, wishing to be elected to office, shall submit their name, and the office being sought. They will submit a profile of their qualifications, and their position statement (not to exceed 250 words) to the Elections Committee in writing by April 15, 2023, of the year they are seeking election.

  • The Corresponding/Recording Secretaries shall ensure that candidate profiles and position statements are disseminated to all members of the organization no later than May 15, 2023.

​

Voting Eligibility:

​

  • Member in good standing with BCOC

​

  • Member must be duly registered for the meeting (payment of registration fee) His/her name must appear on the roll of the treasurer.

​

  • Each member of the meeting is entitled to one vote and only one vote.

The election committee will certify the “official results” of the vote and present them to the membership. Thank you for your participation and we look forward to seeing you in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The password logins are case sensitive and includes symbols. Please be sure to use the login names and passwords as given. Each login and password is only usable by the member prescribed.

1.    Use this direct link to access the voting process page https://webvertise.us/?page_id=605  or access the page with the following next 3 steps

2.    Go to www.webvertise.us

3.    Click on Client Services from the top menu

4.    Click on BCOC Elections (Will be the last option on the bottom)

5.    After you select your vote for the first candidate, you will asked to enter your login and password you were provided when you click the submit button

6.    Cast your vote for the remaining candidates

7.    Results are live, instant, and refreshes page automatically

8.    System will not allow votes unless signed in

9.    System will not allow multiple votes

10.  The election will automatically close at the specified time on Friday
