On March 1, 2007, the BCOC had an opportunity to listen to trials and triumphs of three retired veteran African-American fire service professionals. Listed below are some excerpts of interviews with Arnett “The Rookie” Hartsfield, Capt. Vincent Julius, and Chief Monroe Smith. You may listen just by clicking the person’s name.
